Ramadhan!!! :)

Assalamualaikum and haiii ! :)

So as you all may know...
Ramadhan is almost here!!!
Alhamdulillah we are still here.
We are still living in this world. Alhamdulillah...

What is Ramadhan?

Holy Month of Ramadhan make every person happy and the joy that billions of us will feel happy when the month of Ramadhan arrives, those who are not Muslim cannot imagine what Ramadhan is really like. For them it must seem like a severe diet that lasts for 30 days.

Ramadhan is the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar (see table at ----> Calendar)
Ramadhan is a fast, held from sunrise to sunset during this month.

Maybe a couple of you heard greetings like Ramadhan Kareem and Ramadhan Mubarak.
But... what is the difference between Ramadhan Kareem and Ramadhan Mubarak?

Both can be use for greetings.
But the exact meaning of Kareem is generous.
Why do we say Ramadhan Generous (Ramadhan Kareem )?
It's because Ramadhan is generous and it brings happiness to all mankind.
What kind of happiness?
Only Muslims know. :) We Muslims look forward the whole year for the month of happiness, the month in which Allah Himself asked us about our needs and fulfil those needs with His mercy :)

The meaning of Mubarak is blessed.
Ramadhan + Mubarak = Blessed Ramadhan.
:)

Easy right?

Now.. Why do we fast?
The reason behind this is very simple.
Muslims have been commanded by Allah to do so.

" Oh you who Believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you so that you may learn self-restraint. " [Al Quran : Al-Baqarah - 2:183]

"So you can't eat or drink anything?"

"Yup. Wait... Not only that... We also need to...

"What? Why would you do that? Are you trying to kill yourself?"

" No... We fast because it is one of the five pillars of Islam. If we don't fast, we can't call ourselves as Muslims. The five pillars of Islam are five basic acts in Islam, considered obligatory by believers and are the foundation of Muslim life. They make up Muslim life, prayer, concern for the needy, self purification and the pilgrimage. By the way, by fasting can't kill you, you silly, it will make us increase our faith towards Allah, we can act like we're fasting in front of our parents, friends, teachers and we can eat in a safe place where others can't see us but we Muslims don't do that because we know, even though no one is around, Allah is watching."

"Wow, really? That's awesome. So, what's the benefit of fasting in Islam?"

"The primary objective is to attain 'God Conciousness' or self-discipline and the spiritual objective and benefit is

  • help us draw closer to Allah
  • aids in increase of faith and sincerity and to increase humbleness
  • help to improve one's character
  • trains the person to do praiseworthy acts such as charity, kindness, generosity, patience and forgiveness.
  • to repent
  • we will accept a night that is better than 1000 months
"Wow! A night that is better than 1000 months? That is equal to 83 years. What is that one night?"

"That one night is called Lailatul Qadr. Lail means night, Qadr means power or majesty. So Lailatul Qadr means Night of Power or Night of Majesty. For more details, you can watch this video. It explains almost everything what has been going on your mind about Lailatul Qadr. ---> Lailatul Qadr "

So, what should we do during this beautiful month?
Other than fasting,

We can...

1) help others in need

2) dzikr

3) do charity or if you can't do charity... SMILE, IT'S A CHARITY TOO! ;)

Now...
May this Ramadhan will be our BEST Ramadhan and In Shaa Allah,
May Allah choose us to meet the night that is better than 1000 months...
Lailatul Qadr...

Assalamualaikum! :)
